Overview
Accredited Operations Professional (AOP) is an advanced Uptime Institute program designed for Accredited Operations Specialist and Accredited Tier Specialist alumni seeking to extend their knowledge into site and portfolio-level governance and management. The program addresses the relationship between data center operations, IT strategy, organizational objectives and business availability requirements. It develops advanced knowledge in operations strategy, portfolio governance, leadership, efficiency initiatives, performance measurement and implementation. Successful completion of the program and examination results in Uptime Institute endorsement of the individual as an Accredited Operations Professional.
What It Covers
AOP covers operations strategy and the distinctions between strategy, governance and management. It examines digital infrastructure portfolios, organizational and environmental constraints, site and topology assessment and the translation of strategy into operational initiatives. Leadership content includes organizational structure, roles, job descriptions and creating a culture of operational excellence. Portfolio-level topics include training management, change management and governance across multiple environments. The program examines IT effectiveness, efficiency and cost, including approaches that extend beyond PUE. It addresses development of business cases, implementation planning, baselines, chargeback approaches and the use of KPIs for operations management. Integrated monitoring and governance topics include DCIM and Uptime Institute's FORCSS decision-making methodology.
