Overview
The Data Centre Foundation Certificate (DCFC) introduces the major infrastructure systems and concepts that support modern data centers. It is designed for people who need a broad foundation before entering the industry or progressing into more specialized data center training. The program provides an overview of how data centers support the business and introduces the physical infrastructure, standards, topology concepts and operational systems commonly encountered in data center environments.
What It Covers
The program covers introductory data center concepts including data center types, business relationships, standards, site selection, facility areas and topology concepts. Infrastructure coverage includes utility power, transformers, generators, fuel systems, automatic transfer systems, UPS systems, batteries and electrical panels. Cooling coverage includes chillers, direct-expansion systems, evaporative systems, CRAC/CRAH and HVAC concepts, raised and non-raised floor environments and containment. The course also introduces equipment racks, copper and fiber network cabling, pathways, labeling, physical security, CCTV, access control, fire detection and suppression, DCIM, EMS and BMS.
